Diesel engine cylinder head - Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2
Nature of dispute / problem:
Allegations were made that the over heating and subsequent failure of the cyinder head was the result of the use of sub-standard cast aluminium material and that the work on the engine was not carried out by competent vehicle technicians.
Work completed:
- Examined cylinder head failure in detail
- Reviewed workshop practice and vehicle technicians
- Arranged and witnessed non-destructive tests (NDT) carried out on the cast aluminium head.
- Work reported in written form for the Court
