Engine Failure - Nissan Navara D22 pick-up truck
Nature of dispute / problem:
Examined the engine which had been removed from the vehicle and was stripped to reveal damage to components.
Work carried out included:
The following componets and assemblies were examined in detail:
- Engine oil pump and filter
- Connecting rods and bearings
- Pistons
- Cylinder head and valves
- Crankshaft
An excessive amount of joint sealant had been used and there was significant amounts of the sealant found in the oil ways and engine components.
