Porsche 911 Turbo – engine type 930
Nature of dispute / problem:
It was alleged that that the engine rebuild of the Porsche 911 was carried out incompetently and with poor workmanship and as a consequence the engine lacked power, had very poor fuel consumption, leaked oil and had failed more than one turbocharger.
Work completed:
- Witnessed engine being stripped down by specialist vehicle technicians.
- Examined engine components for defects and signs of abnormal wear.
- Examined failed components and assessed causation.
- Reviewed the service history and specialist engine tuning reports.
- Considered the competence and workmanship of the engine re-build work.
