Caterpillar Pipelayers (572, 583, 594)
Allegation that the Pipelayers were prepared and in good condition for hire but following the hire period required extensive repair and refurbishment as a direct result of lack of maintenance and misuse.
- Examination and familiarisation with vehicles in question
- Assessment of the vehicles condition prior to hire
- Review of evidence for component failure including oil analysis and engineering reports
- Assessemnt of repairs carried out to hydraulic drives, undercarriage, engine, main frame and counter weight
- Review of the extent and limits of normal wear and tear
- Attendance at the Mediation
- Preparation and attendance at High Court trial where concurrent evidence was given. (Hot-Tubbing)
