Manufacturing Plant - rubberised car parts
Nature of dispute / problem:
Allegations made that the installation and maintenance of machine tools and their working environment resulted in a reduction in production quality and throughput which in turn caused a significant proportion of finished product to be scrapped. The allegations included the significant issue that Customers (including high volume car plants) were seriously affected.
Work completed:
- Reviewed the documents detailing the plans and installation of the amalgamated plants.
- Reviewed the production output data and finished component defect analysis.
- Examined the plant and machine layout, in particular the production flow layout and ventilation of the workspace and its effect on the output of hot rubberised press machines.
- Reviewed customer feedback and defect report sheets on the range of failed components.
- Analysis to determine causation for scrap components and reduced throughput.
- Work reported in written form for the Court
