Dockside crane - Sennebogen 835R
Nature of dispute / problem:
The cab of the crane collapsed and the driver was thrown through the windsreen and suffered serious injury. Allegations were made that the crane had not been properly maintained.
Work completed:
- Examined crane in its working environment
- Reviewed failure and metallurgical analysis of failed components.
- Reviewed routine maintenance and periodic safety inspection records and procedures.
- Reviewed HSE accident reports
- Prepared for and gave oral evidence in Court.
