Mercedes flatbed trailer with mounted HIAB crane
Nature of dispute / problem:
Whilst travelling the crane outrigger arm extended from its stowed position and struck a pedestrian resulting in fatal injuries.
Work completed:
- Examined the vehicle and mounted HIAB crane
- Examined the outrigger safety latch system.
- Reconstruction of the safety latch conditions that resulted in the incident.
- Prepared for and gave oral evidence at the Inquest.
- Work reported in written form for the Court.
